Darlows Receives Armed Forces Covenant Gold Award for Outstanding Support
07/10/2024
Darlows is proud to announce that we have been honoured with the Armed Forces Covenant Gold Award, the highest accolade recognising employers who demonstrate exceptional commitment to supporting military personnel and their families.
The Armed Forces Covenant recognises employers who show exceptional support for the Armed Forces community. Achieving the Gold Award showcases Darlows’ commitment to service members, veterans, and their families.
David Skingley, pictured above, joined our team in 2018 after an impressive 26 years in the military, followed by 13 years of commercial and government experience. A former Warrant Officer in the Royal Corps of Signals, David now plays a crucial role in our IT Infrastructure team, managing servers, networking, computers, and IT security.
Emma Barber, our Head of Training and Development and Armed Forces Champion, whose husband served for 22 years, shared her pride in this moment:
“We are incredibly proud of the dedication of those who serve. Signing the Armed Forces Covenant was our commitment to fair and respectful treatment. Being awarded the Gold Award is one of the proudest moments in both my career and personal life.”
Antony Lark, our CEO, expressed his pride in the award:
“Being honoured with the Gold Award is a testament to our dedication to the Armed Forces community. This recognition reinforces our continuous work to ensure military employees are given the opportunities they deserve to flourish in their careers beyond service.”
Darlows has consistently recognised the valuable contributions veterans and reservists make to the civilian workforce. With this award, we proudly join a select group of employers known for their unwavering support of the Armed Forces.
Our commitment to providing a welcoming and supportive space for all staff, especially military personnel, remains steadfast, and we are excited to strengthen our relationship with the Armed Forces community moving forward.
